Make your own register

Everything on this site — the numbering, the condition field, the standard each page has to pass — as something you can run for your own work.

Where this actually stands

This is not open yet. The register you are looking at is built and running; the part that lets other people have their own — accounts, payment, your own address — is not written. I would rather say that here than put a sign-up button on a page that cannot make you an account.

Tell me you want it and you will hear when it opens. Every message gets a reply within two working days.

How it will work

  1. Claim a name

Pick the address your register lives at. It is yours from the moment you sign in, before you have written anything.

  2. Add what you have made

Every entry gets a permanent accession number and an honest condition — shipped, built, specced, or merely claimed. The unfinished ones are not a problem to hide.

  3. Publish when it is ready

Three entries go live for nothing. Beyond that, or on your own domain, it is a single payment and there is no renewal.

What it will cost

Free

No charge

Build the whole thing before you decide anything.

  • Unlimited entries, drafted privately
  • Publish up to three of them
  • A yourname.display.archi address
  • The same standard every page here passes
  • A small credit in the footer

Paid

One payment

No subscription. Pay once, it stays yours.

  • Unlimited published entries
  • Point a domain you already own at it
  • No footer credit
  • The register exports as data, like this one does

Payment will go through a hosted checkout, so card details never reach this site or its database. There is no plan to add a subscription.

What every register will have to pass

The same forty-odd mechanical checks this site runs on every build — a real 404, unique titles and descriptions, alt text, security headers, a visible focus ring, reduced-motion support. Not a template with the boxes pre-ticked: a build that fails if the boxes are not true.
